Meet Nantongo Jennifer, the first student of PSM Charity’s Style & Beauty Academy (SBA). Her story is a testament to the transformative power of empowerment initiatives aimed at fostering financial independence and community growth.
Journey and Impact || Before joining SBA, Jennifer faced significant challenges in securing steady employment to support her family. The Style & Beauty Academy provided her with essential skills in book-making and tailoring, coupled with business management training. The highlight of her experience was receiving a sewing machine from MTN Uganda, which has been a game-changer for her business.
"The sewing machine I received through SSP has transformed my work. With it, I can produce higher-quality products more efficiently, increasing my income by 40%," shares Jennifer. Her success didn’t stop there—she has empowered four other youths in her community, creating a network of support and collaboration that continues to grow.
Future Aspirations | To further boost her production and expand her business, Jennifer is seeking an electrical sewing machine and additional capital. These resources will enable her to handle larger orders, purchase more materials, and invest in marketing, thereby increasing her reach and impact.
Jennifer’s story exemplifies the ripple effect of providing the right tools and training. With continued support from partners like MTN Uganda, PSM Charity aims to empower more women and youth, fostering sustainable livelihoods and stronger communities.
